Code of conduct
Applies to everyone at the school, including organizers, faculty, and presenters, at all venues and social activities.
We are dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone at the NeuroData AI Summer School, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery are not appropriate anywhere at the school, including talks. Participants who violate these rules may be sanctioned or asked to leave at the discretion of the organizers.
Harassment includes, but is not limited to:
- Verbal comments that reinforce social structures of domination related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, or religion.
- Sexual images in public spaces.
- Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following.
- Harassing photography or recording.
- Sustained disruption of talks or other sessions.
- Inappropriate physical contact.
- Unwelcome sexual attention.
- Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behavior.
Enforcement
Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.
Organizers, faculty, and presenters are also subject to this policy. In particular, they should not use sexualized images, activities, or other material.
Organizers may take action to redress anything designed to, or with the clear impact of, disrupting the school or making the environment hostile for any participant.
If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the organizers have the responsibility to remind the offender of this code of conduct and warn them that repeated inappropriate, uncivil, threatening, offensive, or harmful behavior can lead to removal from the school. It may also affect their participation in future installments.
We expect participants to follow these rules at all venues and at school-related social activities, and we think people should follow them outside the school too.
Reporting
If someone makes you or anyone else feel unsafe or unwelcome, please report it as soon as possible to the organizers. You can speak to any organizer in person during the school or write to ben.dichter@catalystneuro.com, from your own address or from an anonymous one. Harassment and other violations reduce the value of the school for everyone, and we want you to be able to take part fully.
